Say hello to our new team members!
We also took a trip, changed up our workshop format and have consulting hours now
With every month having it’s own vibe and activity levels, we are feeling well rested, hydrated and grateful that May might just be that month in our action packed calendar where we get to take a few weeks looking inward.
While we have been quiet on the social media, networking and events front, we have internally been at work refining a few of our offerings, updating our digital pages and setting up systems for a very interesting year ahead. Not to mention the welcome respite that the rains in Bangalore have brought us, our Instagram feed has one rain appreciation post per week minimum!
Here are some of the highlights:
We want to give a warm welcome to our newest team members, Nishtha Sood (Marketing Coordinator) and Aashna Anandani (Artist Coordinator) who will be working with us for the next 3 months! 🥳 We met both of them at the Career Fair organised by Global Music Institute a few months ago.
Nishtha Sood is a plant parent by day and a vocal coach by night. With training in both Indian classical music and Western contemporary music, they are a dedicated singer-songwriter with a passion for summer dresses and jewellery. They love marketing, are a Majnu-ka-Tila laphing and ramen enthusiast, and enjoy 'The Office' and 'Modern Family' marathons.
Aashna Anandani is a performance student at GMI with a passion for contemporary music. She’s always up for a good cup of coffee and an avid Apple connoisseur.

Structured partnerships with organisations such as GMI enable us to design internships and apprenticeship programs through which we are able to connect with the next wave of music business professionals and artists, and play a small part in shaping their skills, values and networks early in their careers. We are thrilled to work with Aashna and Nishtha, and hope to create an enriching work environment, and also learn from them at Neon!
Catalyst sessions
We took a few months off post conference, but were so happy to resume our monthly catalyst sessions in May. We had initially started out planning to have these workshops in-person and online, but have decided to move them to the online format only. This decision was made after feedback from past attendees from an accessibility standpoint, and we hope to see the attendance for these sessions increase with this as well.
Our session on 12th May was titled “Marketing assets for artists” where we covered different marketing channels and the tools to use them effectively. It was also a special session as we had our first guest speaker for these workshops join us, and it was the brilliant Madhusudan Raman (editor at Rock Street Journal) who broke down the elusive press release with some great examples and best practices.
We plan to host catalyst sessions on the second Sunday morning of each month, and our next one is planned for 9th June. The poster, tickets, registration and guest speaker details are all linked here - hoping to see many of you online for this one!
#neontravels
We took a trip to Kochi last week for a top secret mission, and more on this will be revealed soon! In between meetings and recces, we were able to enjoy some good food, take aesthetic and dramatic pictures of the rain and lightning, meet some local cats and appreciate the growth of our friendship and working relationship as we seamlessly worked our way through 2 packed days. Here’s an assortment of pictures from our short adventure.
